I'm happy to report that my horse's stablemate cannot get this fly mask off my horse's head and believe me, he's tried. ![]() I was very skeptical but thought I'd give it a try. But, I noticed that the Supermask II was advertised as being difficult for stablemates to remove. I just about gave up on trying to keep a fly mask on my horse. I tried 3 different brands of fly masks in 2 months and even tried spraying the velcro closure tabs with Bitter Apple but the masks kept "flying off" and ending up in the stablemate's paddock. The horse in the paddock next to my horse was constantly taking off my horse's fly masks, stomping on them and ripping them to shreds. Stablemate has not been able to remove this flymask from my horse My horse has thanked me ever sice they came out and he looks. The flies do lay their eggs in the masks and dirt can accummulate in the little mesh holes, but washing, either in the bucket with a little soap or in the washer, cleans them up. I get some color for each of my 3 horeses and wash them about every two weeks. We are best buds and this has helped cement the friendship. I get the shimmer silver one for my Dapple Grey Gelding. ![]() It has been a happy day for horses ever since. ![]() A lady in Gilbert AZ invented these and sold the patent to Farnam. This mask keeps the flies out of their eyes and keeps them from having to rub their faces against their legs or other body parts to get rid of those aggravating, annoying flies!!! Prior to Farnam masks, years ago, I even had horses that wore the hair off the skin around their eyes because of the ceaseless aggravation. Horses are notoriously bothered by flies all the time, especially when it is hot and humid. Horses Love I met the inventor of this little item. ![]()
